9 killed, 16 injured in Munich shooting attack

MUNICH, July 23 (Xinhua) — Nine individuals were killed and 16 others harmed in a shooting assault in southern German city of Munich on Friday night before the shooter shot himself dead, said Munich police right off the bat Saturday. 

The shooter, recognized as a 18-year-old German-Iranian, held double citizenship of Germany and Iran and had lived in Munich for over two years, said Munich police boss Hubertus Andrae at a question and answer session. 

Three of the harmed are in genuine conditions, and a few kids were injured, Andrae said. 

The aggressor was prone to have acted alone. "There is at present no proof of different aggressors," Andrae said, including that "the foundation and thought process of the assault stay vague." 

He said that it was obscure whether there was any Asian among the casualties. 

A sum of 2,300 policemen and exceptional strengths were sent in the activity after the assault, including powers from neighboring government states and Austria, as indicated by Andrae. 

Open transport administration in the city was suspended after the assault on Friday yet was reestablished later.
